Jewish Quarter in Josefov

Prague’s ancient Jewish ghetto lies near the Old Town Square, just 10 minutes from our hotel. The first Jews settled in Prague around the 10th century. In the 17th century, Prague was home to over 7,000 Jews. Persecution, fires, and looting in Josefov were virtually regular events throughout the centuries. During your visit the Jewish Quarter, don’t forget about the Jewish museum, the old Jewish cemetery, or one of its six synagogues. Built in the 13th century, the Old-New Synagogue is the oldest surviving synagogue in Central Europe.
